funranium: (Duck 'n' Cover)

Orders have come from another hemisphere to provide a story.  I think I can do that.  I ask you to bear with my grammar and spelling as it is not up to my usual brain skipping quality.

What is the most important part of all this?  The Castle Bravo Test was the first in a series of eight detonations known as Operation Ivy.

That's right.  That's where the band's name came from.

funranium: (SCIENCE!)
But check this out, especially the picture: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20061215/sc_nm/comet_dc

I was the third person who got to see this, because I was hanging out with the health and safety tech who had responsibilities for this building.  On a whim, we decided to go check out this lab because he told me about the  brand new, bad ass, swiss army knife of complex scientific analytical microscope they had.

We just happened to walk in right after the researcher had found that.  Had I not paused politely outside of the clean room to play the butt trumpet, I would have seen it second.

There are days that it's not possible pay me enough to leave that place.  I love my job.
funranium: (Lazy)
On the twelfth day of Christmas, funranium sent to me...
Twelve bandeneres drumming
Eleven zentigers piping
Ten mr_glass a-leaping
Nine trenchcoats dancing
Eight volcanoes a-milking
Seven polies a-trespassing
Six utilikilts a-bartending
Five la-a-a-asers
Four health physics
Three cryogenic beverages
Two filthy assistants
...and an apocrypha in a byzantine history.
