funranium: (Didn't Hurt)
So when I went to see the movie last night with [livejournal.com profile] robyngoodfelloe  here in Livermore at the 7:15pm showing, we had the entire theater to ourselves.  Could've taken off my pants if I'd wanted to and no one would have noticed (which does defeat the purpose of the act).  I suppose other people looked at the 15% at rottentomatoes and stayed safely away.

This moviegoing experience has not happened to me since I went to Santa Cruz's Del Mar Theater, pre-renovation, for a showing of "Predator" two months after it opened.  The opening weekend viewing of "Ravenous" with [livejournal.com profile] blark  was close, but there were those three junior high school kids with us who yelled "FAG!" at me for wearing a pink Hawaiian print shirt.

funranium: (Lazy)
The dream was a movie-like thing.  I knew it was a movie although it was a fully immersive experience.  I was not a participant in the action, merely watching.  I suspect that I probably was laughing, giggling, or derisively snorting in my sleep too because I definitely did such things as the dream-observer.  The movie went something like this:

There was a zombie type invasion attacking Bedford Falls from "It's A Wonderful Life".  I would then like you to imagine Ash from the Evil Dead series if the character were played by Jimmy Stewart instead of Bruce Campbell.  He had an Opie-like sidekick he rescued from the five-and-dime.  For some reason, the zombies were all tied back to Bedford Fall's veterinary clinic which, for reasons not at all clear to me, had a linear accelerator and several braze furnaces.

A zombie lurches out of one of the furnaces.  Jimmy Stewart-Ash whips out an automatic Luger and blows its head apart.  A John Woo like slow-mo of spent casings hitting the sealed concrete with that fine *TING*ing sound.  As Jimmy Stewart-Ash slaps a new clip in, he turns to Opie and says, "An angel gets its wings everytime brass hits the floor.  Let's fill out heaven's ranks!"  The two of them then jump, Starsky and Hutch style, out a window to take on the undead hordes, guns blazing.  I then woke up.

I blame it on a very long day with little sleep and watching "The Spirit" before bed.
