For the love of all that is Kiwi, I need sweet chili sauce, preferably stolen  directly from the serving station at Bailey's.  I was served chips with a meat pie today, the only decent goddamn meat pie within a hundred mile radius, and I had to dip them in KETCHUP.  This is not proper.

America does not believe in sweet chili sauce because they do not understand the wonderful flavor.  New Zealand at least understands the principle of pizza being delicious even if they sometimes use cranberry sauce instead of tomato paste.

I am willing to forgive the pizza atrocities I suffered in exchange for sweet chili.  [profile] slothphil, [profile] jwm, [profile] sethop...are you up to the task of bootlegging (chililegging)?  Throw in some venison salami while we're breaking customs laws.  If there were something special you need from America, I'd be happy to trade.

Canada, despite your many fine comics and plentiful nickel and uranium supplies, you are still on notice for Celine Dion, Bryan Adams, and a lack of Tim Horton's in America beyond Buffalo, NY.  [profile] chaleur23, I expect you to take steps to remedy this situation.  Do it for the children.

Do you know what brand of sweet chilli? I'd imagine it shouldn't be a customs issue, though venison salami might well be!

I have no idea what brand they used. I would guess that it was probably Wattie's or something cheap, but I don't know.

Trident Thai Sweet Chili is pretty common in these parts. I'll take some pictures of the range when I'm next at the supermarket.

A gallery of sweet chili sauce, variously with ginger, coriander and in squeezable bottles.

If you can find me a recipe for sweet chili sauce, I will make a batch and send you a bottle. Without breaking any laws, even.

I have venison summer sausage I might be convinced to share with you. and no customs from here to there.

I also am apparently not a good American. When you said "meat pie" I thought pastie...pizza never even occurred to me until 2 paragraphs later. ;)

No, you thought correctly.

NZ's pizza atrocities are a separate, possibly a Human Rights Watch reportable, issue.

NZ at least has a defense of insanity for their crimes against pizzanity. Australia, on the other hand . . . their pizza isn't weird, just bad.

And I don't just mean Domino's bad, I mean starting at Chucky Cheese bad and going from there.

a new paste? I am fascinated.

the immediate thing that comes to mind is the thai sweet chili sauce (for chicken) but it sounds like this paste is different.
